Jesus heals the man's deafness and his speech impediment and then orders him to be silent. In fact, he orders everyone who witnesses the healing to be silent about what they saw.

In the last several years we have seen a resurgence of vocations and our most pressing need is to update the novitiate chapel to accommodate the growing number of friars. Last year, we were able to renovate the chapel floors and give the walls a facelift. This year, we want to complete the chapel renovation with choir stalls.

The disciples were worried about who would be the greatest in the Kingdom. Anyone worried about being great in the Kingdom has a ways to go in humility. So, how do they get started?

The Provincial encouraged and affirmed our novices' efforts in allowing the Dominican way of life to mold them into becoming the teachers, preachers, and caretakers of souls God calls them to become. He spoke of their endurance and courage in taking the risk to profess Obedience, saying, “Profession is not for the faint of heart!”

She became “An Apostle to the Apostles” as a special friend to Christ.

Today we do not reflect on Mass readings but instead sit in silence with the buried Lord.

He whispers, “It is finished!” …..but perhaps it’s just beginning.

We are almost to Golgotha. Along the Way, preach the Good News like it's your last chance. It just might be.

Like in Jesus’s time, we are living in a society where this kind of “breaking news” of betrayal has become part of our daily news cycle.

Will we make it? Will we ever be free from our sins?

Is our generosity towards different charities tainted by the need for a tax write-off?

Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

We need to trust him even when what we cherish most deeply seems threatened.

Being sons and daughters of God through Jesus requires conversion of heart.
