Mary proved to be the fundamental example of faithfulness to God in her choice to cooperate with the words of an angel in becoming the Mother of Jesus.
What the Church holds up for us to behold on the day after the glorious birth of the Messiah is the Spirit in the Church, the Spirit in this suddenly courageous disciple, that will not be stifled or silenced, no matter what consequences await.
Through grace, we see the fractured relationship of our first parents after the Fall, marked by lust, domination, and miscommunication, healed in the relationship between Mary and Joseph.
